Standard Work
Standard work is a tool that defines the interaction of the operator and machine in producing a part or the office worker participating in a process. It details the motion of the operator and the sequence of the machine/process.
It provides a routine for consistency of an operation/process and a basis for improvement. It is also used as a training document and forms part of the quality assurance system.
Without standard work there cannot be any improvements.
